When you book a private jet, many questions often arise. Especially when you book a private jet for the first time. We answer the most frequently asked questions in this blog.
How much time before the flight do I need to book a private flight?
The minimum time required to book a flight with a private jet depends on the availability of the required aircraft. An operator will also check whether the crew is certified for the available aircraft. The rule is often: “the sooner you book, the cheaper it will be for you”.
Fly Aeolus operates on a “first come, first served” principle. For example, there may be one aircraft available at the time of your request, but has already been allocated at the time of booking. The aircraft may already be rented to another customer and therefore another aircraft will have to be flown in for you. This can cause the price to rise significantly.
If you only know until the last moment that you need a private jet but the aircraft and crew are available at your departure location, you may be able to depart for your destination within four hours after contacting us.
There are a number of important factors to consider when booking a private jet. Our blog “Booking a private plane: where should you pay attention?” explains everything in detail.
Can I bring my pet on board?
This differs per operator, so always check this carefully before you book your private flight. At Fly Aeolus it is possible to bring your pets on board. Pets with a maximum weight of 12 kg are allowed on board. We ask that you keep your pet on a leash and that they sit on a blanket. Please note that with larger pets you must keep a seat free in a Cirrus SR22 aircraft.
Whether you can bring a pet does not only depend on the operator, but also on your destination. For example, the United Kingdom has different regulations than the EU. Make sure you know in advance exactly which rules your pet is bound by and whether your dog is allowed on the plane.
How can I pay for my private flight?
There are several ways to pay for your private jet. This can again differ per operator. Most accept credit cards and bank payments. Fly Aeolus accepts several payment options: bank transfers, SEPA direct debit, Mastercard and VISA credit card, Ideal, Sofort and Bancontact. Your payment must be paid 1 day before your private flight.
Is there a toilet on board?
The Cirrus SR22 is the most used aircraft in our fleet. The aircraft does not have a toilet on board. If desired, we can make a sanitary stop. If you would like a toilet on board, Fly Aeolus can arrange another private jet for you. Larger private jets do have a toilet, but these private jets are often more expensive. There are many different types of private jets, check out our blog to find out the differences.
Is there catering on board?
The catering differs per operator. For example, you can get whole meals according to your wishes from certain operators. This is often associated with the price you pay.
During your flight, Fly Aeolus provides a bottle of water and a snack. If you have other wishes, please indicate this when booking your flight, we will be happy to check the options for you.
How much luggage can I take on my flight?
The amount of hold luggage you are allowed to take on your flight depends on the type of private jet you are flying with. In addition, there are other factors that determine how much luggage you can take with you. For example, the number of passengers traveling with you, the length of your flight and the size of the luggage compartment are important.
At Fly Aeolus you can take 10kg per person. The luggage compartment has the following dimensions. The length of the luggage compartment is 91 cm, the width 101 cm and the height is 97 cm. Please take these sizes into account.
What does renting a private plane cost?
The costs of a private jet are very different, many factors influence the price. For example, the destination, the number of people flying along, the plane and the length of your stay all influence the price.
The most important factor is the type of private plane you book. There is a considerable difference in price between different types of private jets. In our blog “How much does a private jet cost and what types of private jets are there?” we have explained the difference between the different types of private jets and their difference in price.
If you fly with Fly Aeolus and choose a Cirrus SR22, the price on average is 580 euros per flight hour. If you want a price indication for your flight, check out our private jet price calculator.
What are the cancellation conditions for a private jet?
The cancellation conditions differ per operator. If you are not sure yet when to travel or at what time, it is important that you check the cancellation policy. What often is very important in a cancellation is whether the operator cancels or the person who booked the private jet. If the person cancels the private jet, you will often only receive a part of the money back. How much depends on the amount of time you cancel before the flight.
Several private jet operators also provide cancellation insurance. The Fly Aeolus cancellation insurance ensures that you will be refunded the full amount paid in case you unexpectedly cannot let the flight take place.
On our blog “All the answers for your questions when hiring an air taxi” you will find answers to many other questions that might come up when you want to book a private flight.
