Formula 1 is the highest class in single-seater car racing. The word “formula” comes from a set of rules to which all participants’ cars must adhere. But what do you absolutely need to know for this historic season, and which tracks are particularly impressive in 2026? Fly Aeolus has updated the list of the 5 most exciting Formula 1 tracks: from the legendary Silverstone to the high-tech spectacle in Miami.

Formula 1 Season 2026

This year’s Formula 1 season is a landmark one, marking the 77th season of the world championship. After years of anticipation, 2026 introduces the most significant overhaul of technical regulations in the sport’s history, aimed at making the racing even closer and 100% sustainable.

The most notable changes for the 2026 season include:

  • Power Units: The engines now feature a 50/50 split between internal combustion and electric power. The MGU-H has been removed, and the electric motor now produces significantly more power (350kW).
  • 100% Sustainable Fuel: For the first time, F1 cars are powered by fully drop-in sustainable fuels, supporting the goal of being Net Zero by 2030.
  • Active Aerodynamics: To improve overtaking, cars now feature movable wings that switch between Z-mode (high downforce for corners) and X-mode (low drag for straights).
  • Lighter and Smaller: The cars are 30kg lighter and slightly narrower, making them more agile and “nimble” on the track.
  • Manual Override Mode: A new driver-controlled boost replaces the traditional DRS system, providing an extra burst of electrical energy for overtaking.

1. Silverstone circuit: July 03-05, 2026

formula 1 circuits

The Silverstone circuit in England remains the spiritual home of the British Grand Prix. Having hosted the very first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1950, it holds a special place in the hearts of fans. Despite past financial concerns, the circuit has secured its place on the calendar for years to come.

Built on a deserted WWII Royal Air Force bomber station, the track is famous for its high-speed corners. The 2026 regulations, with their emphasis on agile cars, make the legendary Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence even more breathtaking to watch.

In England there are also some other interesting racetracks for car fans. You can check the Top Gear racetrack and Goodwood in our blog: landing at a European race circuit!

2. Formula 1 circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: July 17 – 19, 2026

The Formula 1 circuit, Spa-Francorchamps, is located in Stavelot in Belgium. The circuit said to be one of the most challenging racetracks in the world mainly due to its fast hilly and twisty nature. Spa is very popular among fans and the drivers; it is the favorite circuit of a big part of the racing community.

At many occasions the circuit had been modified and cut down to become safer as it was considered one of the most dangerous circuit. From 1970, the circuit went 13 years without hosting the Grand Prix and finally in 1983, the F1 returned but on a shorter circuit than the original. Of course, the circuit still retains most of its legendary curves. Raidillon is a technical series of turns which can be passed at a speed of 300km/h. If you have the opportunity to go to the Spa Grand-Prix you have to check if you can sit near Raidillon!

3. The Zandvoort circuit: August 21 – 23, 2026

Known as the “Circuit Park Zandvoort,” this motorsport track in the Dutch dunes has become a modern classic. While there is much discussion about the future of the Dutch GP beyond this season, 2026 remains a highlight for the “Orange Army.”

The track is famous for its high speeds and unique banked corners (Hugenholtz and Luyendyk). The narrower 2026 cars are expected to make racing in the tight dunes more competitive, offering even better wheel-to-wheel action through the famous Tarzan corner.

The racetrack is well known for its high speeds. It has a length of 4,3 km and its Tarzan corner, just after the finish/start line is a thrill to see. This corner offers amazing overtaking opportunities. If you are lucky enough to visit the race, try to get a seat in front of this corner to enjoy the best parts of the race.

4. Circuit de Monaco: June 04 – 07, 2026

The Monaco circuit is the most famous Formula 1 circuit. The circuit of Monaco is a temporal circuit. It is laid out on the city streets of Monte Carlo, in the neighborhood of Monaco. The inaugural race of the Formula 1 circuit in Monaco was held in 1929. Every Grand Prix they build the full circuit, this takes 6 full weeks and it is being used for 2 weeks, after the Grand Prix they need another 3 weeks to dismantle it.

This race is so special because it is very different to any other Formula 1 race. With its elevation shifts, tight corners and its narrowness. Navigating in the streets of Monaco is another way to show how talented Formula 1 drivers really are, even if it is the slowest Formula 1 circuit.

Monaco of course still has a lot to offer, read in our blog what you can do on your vacation in Monaco, both in winter and summer.

5. Miami International Autodrome: 1–3 May 2026

What began in 2022 as a newcomer has since grown into a premier event on the Formula 1 calendar. This 5.41 km circuit surrounding the Hard Rock Stadium offers a unique “show-style” atmosphere that is characteristic of the American sporting experience.

With top speeds exceeding 320 km/h and 19 corners, Miami provides the perfect stage for the new 2026 power unit technology. In particular, the new “Manual Override” boost is expected to be a game-changer on the long straights leading into Turns 1, 11, and 17. Drivers must also tackle a slight elevation change at Turns 14 and 15 before diving downhill again on corner exit. Turns 1, 11, and 17 were specifically designed as overtaking opportunities; with a ticket for these sections, you will be right in the heart of the action.
