Are you planning a business trip to the capital of Hungary? Fly Aeolus has compiled a flyover of the most beautiful sights and insider tips so that you don’t miss out on experiencing the beauty of Budapest from every angle. With Fly Aeolus’ tips your private flight to Budapest is almost organized.
Origin & Economy
Situated on the beautiful Danube, Budapest is divided by the river into two halves – Buda and Pest. Only since 1873 Buda, Pest, and Obuda have been united to form the capital of Hungary – Budapest.
The “city of baths” is the largest city in Hungary and the ninth-largest city in the EU, with a population of about 1.7 million. Economically, Hungary is heavily dependent on car manufacturers that produce in Hungary. Thus, about 25 % of the economy can be attributed to the industrial sector.
Sightseeing-Highlights for your private flight to Budapest
Budapest gained the name “City of Baths” from the miracle-working springs of the Gellertmountain. In a breathtaking Art Nouveau building, you can live the good life during your business trip. Namely, relax with a wellness treatment in the Gellert Baths – a real sight to see. To keep the effort to a minimum, we suggest to book a luxurious room in the Gellert Hotel.

Private flight to Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church
Another impressive building and definitely a highlight for your flight to Budapest is the Fisherman’s Bastion – Halászbástya in Hungarian. This neo-Romanesque landmark was built between 1895 and 1902. It bears its name because of the purpose for which it was built: a fishermen’s guild. The commissioned architect also gave the neo-Gothic style to Matthias Church, which is located next to the Fishermen’s Bastion.
The Hungarian Parliament
Located directly on the Danube, this impressive building takes many people’s breath away, especially after sunset. There are 700 rooms with 27 entrances spread over an area of around 18,000 m². The building was constructed between 1885 and 1904, requiring almost 40 million bricks. However, the architect Imre Steindl, unfortunately, went blind towards the end of the construction and was never able to see his masterpiece in its entirety.
Our insider tip for you: Book an evening Danube cruise with dinner and live music and let the beauty of the Danube embankment work its magic.
Sightseeing: A day trip to Tokaji vineyard
If you have a whole day to spare for an excursion, we highly recommend a visit to the vineyards of the Unesco World Heritage Site Tokaji. Located in the north-east of Hungary, the vineyards are known worldwide for their noble sweet wine varieties. The French King Louis XIV also called the wine of Tokaji “liquid gold”. This cultural landscape extends over approx. 11,251 ha and has often been awarded the title of Hungary’s most beautiful vineyard.
At the Disznókő Winery, which has received first-class awards since 1772, you are invited to visit the cellar vaults protected from the wind due to being in Carpathians. During the wine tasting of the Tokaji Aszú liqueur wine, you will enjoy the sweet taste of cultivating local winemaking traditions, which is the mission of this wine-growing region.
Airports for your private flight to Budapest
The practical thing for you about the last mentioned destination – the winery of Tokaji – is its proximity to Nyiregyhaza airport. This means that you can start your journey home after only a 30-minute drive to the airport. This way you avoid traffic jams, long queues, and waiting times at check-in. Hence, efficient time planning for your private flight to Budapest is assured.
We can offer you also two further airports for your business trip.
The first is Liszt Ferenc (Ferihegy) Airport, located in the east of the city about 16 km from the city centre. Here you land at a terminal for private jets – also called General Aviation Terminal (GAT). This is located directly next to the Terminal 1 building. The airport is open 24 hours a day and parking spaces are available for passengers directly in front of the building. The taxi transfer, which Fly Aeolus will of course organise for you in advance, will take you about 45 minutes to the centre of Budapest.
The smaller Tököl Airport, shown on the map above is about 5 km further from the city center. But due to the better location of the airport, you are able to avoid the traffic jam to the city center. With a transfer, you can be in the center of Budapest within 30 minutes. In addition, the cost of landing at this airport is much lower. The airport is open daily from 7.30 am until sunset.

Hotels for your businesstrip
Our first recommendation is the Continental Hotel Budapest. Located in the Jewish quarter, this superior hotel is highly praised for its famous spa and the atmosphere of the surrounding streets.
Nearby we also recommend the 5-star hotel Corinthia Hotel. Here you can look forward to the Royal Spa, three different restaurants, an elegant café and the excellent location on the Ringstrasse.
Our restaurant recommendations for your flight to Budapest
Did you know that the Gundelpancake is also a result of the famous training school of the Viennese confectioner Franz Sacher? The inventor of this dish – Karl Gundel – did his confectioner training with the Sacher family in Austria. He took over the “Wampetich” restaurant in Budapest’s City Park, and renamed it the “Gundel Restaurant“. Consequently, in this renowned restaurant, you can not only try the famous Gundel pancake with nut-raisin-rum filling and rum-chocolate sauce, but also taste typical Hungarian dishes.
If you can’t get enough of the fantastic views Budapest has to offer, we recommend the restaurant in the Fishermen’s Bastion, which gives you a look over the whole city. Here you can follow the restaurant’s aim under the arcades or in the so-called Knight’s Hall and enjoy all facets of modern Hungarian cuisine.
