Le Touquet, which is often referred to as “Paris Plage”, is a fashionable and small town on the Opal Coast of France. To attract inhabitants of Paris, the name Paris-Plage was invented in the 19th century. However, this attempt failed and the town was therefore renamed “Le Touquet”. Till today, many Parisians like to spend the weekend on this coast.
What to do?
This town is obviously known for its large beach, sports activities or sunbathing. If you are interested in other activities, then visit the Paris-Plage lighthouse and enjoy the view!
The seaside city and its surroundings have a typical architecture that was developed by the English in the 1920s and 1930s. Through the houses called Sevenoaks, Wimbledon and Peppermint, one can get an idea on how Le Touquet used to be at that time. Also, we recommend exploring the region by bike or on foot. Don’t forget to visit the covered market, which is existing since 1930.

Where to land?
Le Touquet – Côte d’Opale airport is located 2.5 km from the city center of Le Touquet. In summer months, the airport is open from 9am to 8pm. Please note, that there is no regular transport to the center in the afternoon. Also, during that time, local taxis are not easily available.
