A skiing holiday in the Austrian Alps guarantees snowy slopes and a hospitable stay. The Alps cover about 2 thirds of Austria’s surface area. For many, Austria is therefore a popular holiday destination. With so many ski resorts to choose from, it’s easy to lose track. That is why Fly Aeolus has made a list of the the 5 most popular Austria ski resorts. With our private jets, you’ll be on the slopes in no time!

The finest ski resort in Kitzbühel

Ultra-luxury chalets, modern lift systems and legendary parties where celebrities are seen. It is probably the most famous and most expensive ski resort in Austria.

Here you can not only ski on the most beautiful slopes, but also enjoy your holiday on the kilometres of cross-country ski trails and in the famous apres-ski bars.

In total, Kitzbühel has around 188 km of perfectly groomed piste kilometres. Besides that, cross-country skiing is also a popular sport in Austria. In Kitzbühel there are incredible 41 kilometers of cross-country trails, an interesting sport that is worth trying out.

The most pleasant accommodation for a perfect stay:

Kitzbühel also offers the best luxury hotels to relax in when it comes to comfort. To enjoy your holiday off the slopes we recommend the Lebenberg Schlosshotel.

A true gem of accommodation in Kitzbühel, where you can enjoy first-class treatment. Our favourite spot in the hotel is the glorious pool at night overlooking Kitzbühel.

Obertauern in the Salzburger Land

Scenery Salzburger Land while Skiing | Mountain Aineck

Obertauern is one of Austria’s top ski resorts, partly because of its altitude of around 1600 to 2300 metres. This guarantees a season with guaranteed snow from November to May.

The 100 kilometres of slopes and 26 modern lifts make Obertauern one of the largest ski areas in Austria. In addition, Obertauern is only a few minutes’ drive away from other popular ski areas in Salzburg’s Lungau region. Within 15 minutes you can reach the Grosseck-Speiereck or the Aineck, for example.

Obertauern is one of the best located and most beautiful ski resorts in Salzburger Land. The Beatles already knew that. Perhaps you will recognise the place from their world-famous video: The filming of their movie “Help” took place here in Obertauern.

Skiing holiday Austria at Semmering

Semmering may seem small compared to the other ski resorts. The 14 km of slopes are really not much, but Semmering offers many advantages that vacationers usually overlook: The ski resort is only an hour’s drive from Austria’s famous capital. Vienna offers a fantastic backdrop and many activities in winter.

If you don’t necessarily want to ski every day, you can spend a magical Christmas at the Vienna Christmas Market. Ice skating in front of Vienna City Hall also makes winter in Vienna phenomenal. The so-called Viennese Ice Dream is not just a sports venue, but rather a huge icescape. On some 9,500 m2 of ice, beginners and experts alike will find diverse possibilities for practising this beloved winter sport.

Vienna also has many other world-famous sights to offer. If you want to learn more about the Austrian capital, you can read more in our blog with a private jet to Vienna.

From Vienna’s Schwechat airport, you can reach the city centre within half an hour. The airport is accessible around the clock. In addition, the FBO is located further away from the main terminals, which allows them to quickly board the private aircraft and avoid long check-in lines. Find out more about what a FBO is!

Skiing on the Arlberg

With the highest amount of  kilometers of slopes in Austria, the Arlberg is one of the most sought-after ski resorts. The largest contiguous ski area in Austria offers an incredible 305 kilometers of slopes.

Looking for a family ski holiday in Austria? The varied slopes offer the perfect challenge for every skier and snowboarder. Perfect for the whole family. The slopes range from blue – for absolute beginners – to perfect deep slopes.

If you still want to experience something off-piste after a wonderful day of skiing, this is the place to be. International visitors gather in the luxurious bars and restaurants after the slopes close. One of the most excellent restaurants on the Arlberg is the Hazienda.

Skiing in Sölden

In winter, Sölden is one of the best what the Austrian Alps have to offer. The modern cable cars make for a pleasant skiing holiday. Our insider tip: Go to the top of the Gaislachkogel and have dinner there at 3048 metres in the new gourmet and designer restaurant called ice Q.
