Via Engadina

The Via Engadina is known for its 10 days long high-level hike through the entire Engadina or the via Engadina. The best time to experience this adventure is in summer. Be aware you will hike through 6 stages and continuous tracks with some steep terrain on the sunny side.
Another must see would be the Pro Natura Park with its glacial mills orignating from the ice age. The glacier mills in Cavaglia are also very beautiful and impressive. Afterwards you can take a hike on the old Roman road “Maloggin” to Casaccia.
If you rather like art you can visit the Segantini atelier in Maloja. The area was one of his favorite places to paint.
Rosegtal/Val Roseg
It is a high-alpine valley, the Ova da Roseg river flows through it. This area is good for biking, hiking, cross ski tours, horse-drawn carriage and sledge rides. At the 22 km cross ski tour, one of the longest in the area, you have the chance to experience great landscapes, animals and adventures. The start is located at the Pontresina railway station. It follows the river across meadows and forests of larch.
Here a little secret, the restaurant “Roseg Gletscher” is a great opportunity to have a little break and enjoy a typical meal and recharge your batteries, recover and just let yourself go.
Concluding the Rosegtal, which is traffic free, belonging to Samedan will allow you to practice all these activities in an amazing environment.
The Bernina pass
With an elevation of 2.328 meters, the Bernina pass is a high mountain pass in the Alps. The pass is crossed by a road and rail with a popular train called the Bernina Express. It allows you to travel from St Moritz to the Italian city of Tirano on a beautiful track being the highest railway in Europe.
